How to do it...

The skateboarder crouches down with one foot in the center of the tail of the skateboard, and the other foot anywhere from half-way to on top of the front truck. The skateboarder leaps into the air as the foot on the tail pushes the tail onto the ground. Both feet are lifted up towards the body, with the front foot sliding along the board toward the head of the board. This rotates the board lifting the tail. The knees are lifted as high as possible while both feet are moved inward to the bolts. The feet are now moved so the board is level with the ground. When the peak of the jump is reached, the legs are extended to bring the skateboard back to the ground. Knees should always be bent slightly when performing a landing to avoid injury.

Some history on the trick...

The Ollie is an aerial skateboarding trick, invented by Alan "Ollie" Gelfand in 1978. When doing an ollie the skateboarder leaps into the air bringing the board into the air without using their hands.
